Terms and Conditions

The following Terms and Conditions outline how Trivra Moving operates in providing packing, moving, and storage services. By using this website or hiring our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms stated below.

Ownership of Goods

By booking a move with Trivra Moving, you confirm and guarantee that:

  • The goods being moved are your property and free from any legal claims, or
  • You have full authorization from the legal owner to engage Trivra Moving for relocation services. You also confirm that the owner is aware of and agrees to these terms and conditions.

Payment Terms

We accept payments via cash, credit cards (3% surcharge applies), company cheques, bank drafts, and electronic transfers.

  • A booking deposit may be required to secure your move.
  • If paying in cash, you must ensure full payment is made upon job completion before unloading begins.
  • Trivra Moving reserves the right to process payment using the card provided at the time of booking once the service is completed.

Cancellation or Rescheduling

If you need to cancel, postpone, or reschedule your move, the following charges apply based on notice given:

  • More than 7 business days: No charge
  • 2 – 6 business days: 50% of the quoted amount
  • Less than 2 business days: 75% of the quoted amount
  • On moving day or after work starts: 100% of the quoted amount
  • Booking fees: 99$

Note: “business days” refer to Monday through Friday and exclude weekends and public holidays.

Limitation of Responsibility

Trivra Moving is responsible only for damages caused by our negligence. We are not liable for losses or damages due to:

  • Natural disasters (fire, flood, storm, etc.)
  • Infestations, rust, or deterioration
  • Acts of government or public authority
  • Items already damaged prior to the move
  • Prohibited items such as propane tanks, paint, firearms, gas, or perishable goods

Disclaimers

  • Any pre-move preparation not completed by the client may result in longer moving time and increased costs.
  • Any additions to the agreed inventory may incur extra charges.
  • Our team does not connect or disconnect appliances requiring plumbing or electrical work.
  • We do not load or unload items into lofts or attics with pull-down stairs.

Estimates

All online quotes are approximate. Final costs depend on factors like access, stairs, elevators, travel distance, and time taken.
Flat-rate quotes can only be provided after an in-person assessment of your move.

Service Minimum

A minimum booking of 3 hours applies to all moves.

  • Time is billed in ½-hour increments rounded up to the nearest half hour.
  • Inventory updates must be provided in writing (email or text).

Extra Charges / Fines

  • Customers are responsible for arranging parking permits, elevator bookings, and loading dock reservations.
  • Any tickets or fines due to unavailable parking or permits are the customer’s responsibility.
  • Waiting time (for elevators, keys, etc.) is billable at the hourly rate.

High-Value Items and Perishables

Please inform us of any item valued above C$200 per kilogram.
Trivra Moving is not responsible for perishables, jewelry, electronics, cash, documents, or medication. Such items should be transported personally by the customer.

Furniture Handling

We take every precaution to protect your furniture during the move. However, we are not responsible for:

  • Damage to pressboard, particleboard, MDF, or IKEA-style furniture
  • Damage to large or bulky items not disassembled before the move
  • Contents inside drawers or cabinets during transit

Walls and Floors

If oversized furniture must be moved through narrow spaces or hallways, floor and wall damage may occur. Trivra Moving will not be liable for such damage when the customer requests these moves.

Musical Instruments and Appliances

We are not responsible for internal or mechanical issues in appliances or instruments such as pianos, refrigerators, televisions, or washers when no external damage is visible.

Safety

Safety is our top priority. The moving crew supervisor has full authority to halt or refuse any task deemed unsafe.
We are not liable for damages resulting from risky or non-standard procedures, such as hoisting items through windows, narrow staircases, or adverse weather conditions.

Winter Policy

During severe weather, Trivra Moving reserves the right to reschedule a move for safety reasons.

  • Driveways and walkways must be cleared of snow and ice.
  • Any additional time spent clearing access paths will be billed at the regular hourly rate.
  • We are not responsible for delays or damages caused by weather conditions.

Insurance Coverage

Our standard liability coverage is C$100 per kilogram for damages due to our negligence.
For higher-value coverage, customers should purchase additional insurance or arrange their own.

Exclusions include:

  • Owner-packed boxes or containers
  • Pre-existing damage or wear and tear
  • Items not listed in the mover’s inventory
  • Electronic devices with no visible physical damage
  • Damage to furniture made of MDF, veneer, or particleboard
  • Perishables, cash, jewelry, documents, collectibles, and hazardous materials
  • Minor scratches or paint marks from moving large furniture through tight spaces

Tipping

Tipping is not mandatory but always appreciated. Our movers work hard to ensure a smooth and stress-free experience.
